Amanda graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2014 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Natural Resources Engineering.
Amanda has been working as an Environmental Engineer at Beca Ltd, an Engineering Consultancy since January 2015. Based in their Christchurch office, Amanda has specialised in the area of stormwater, wastewater and water infrastructure. Her work over the past year has primarily involved hydraulic modelling and hydrological analysis. The hydrological aspect of her work has included field work such as measuring flows and installation of water level loggers in waterways around Christchurch.
Amanda developed a passion for all things water related from an early age. Growing up fishing and water skiing in the Marlborough Sounds, Amanda then went on to swim competitively for 10 years. During her swimming career her achievements included winning a junior national title and a fifth placing at the 2010 Commonwealth Games Trials.
Amanda is excited to be a part of the expedition team and is looking forwards to this unique opportunity to visit the Auckland Islands. She hopes to make a valuable contribution towards the development of Blake Station and to learn as much as possible from the rest of the team.
