Bhakti manages the Youth Enviroleaders' forum am involved with the youth environment programmes at the Sir Peter Blake Trust. She obtained her BSc and Master’s degrees from the University of Auckland, Leigh Marine Lab specialising in Marine science. Her research focused on snapper physiology. Prior to joining the trust, she was a Marine Biology Technician and Ecology Team Leader at the University of Auckland where she was a diver and skipper - providing technical support in the lab and in the field. She joined the trust in October 2016. This will be Bhakti’s second voyage to Raoul Island. She went in September 2017 to carry out humpback whale and bottlenose dolphin research for cetacean expert, Dr Rochelle Constantine. During Expedition she will continue identifying the resident bottlenose dolphins of Raoul Island.
