Tyla Bowering

Tyla, 17, is a student at Huanui College, Northland. In 2017 she represented Huanui College at the Northland Regional Science Fair, her project focused on sustainable farming of New Zealand White Rabbits for meat, looking at it as an alternative for cows as rabbits contribute less greenhouse gases. In 2016 she competed in the BP challenge, where she and a group of peers created the “Agridome”, a dome like structure made from perspexs hexagons that covers the effluent pond on farms, that captures methane gas and stores it in a holding tank, rather than releasing it.
