Emily is a passionate advocate for environmental sustainability and prioritises spending time empowering communities to create social impact through her academic and practical skills.
Graduating from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering (1st class Hons) and Masters in Engineering Management, Emily now contracts as the Programme Coordinator for Festival for the Future; a weekend working to inspire and empower youth to address the issues of our future.
Emily’s honours project researched the dispersion behaviour of crude oil in the event of a deepwater blowout. This was to aid and localise the clean-up efforts and minimise environmental effects. Emily hopes to extend her technical knowledge and feed her interest in ocean sustainability with the Tara Expedition experience, and ultimately, have a greater educational and leadership impact on the communities she supports.
