I work with our team to deliver the exciting underwater NZ Virtual Reality programme across schools, having just graduated with a Master of Natural Sciences in microbiology from Massey University. In 2016 I joined the Trust family as a Blake NIWA Freshwater Ambassador and have been involved with the Tara Expeditions, Dream Team and various projects since.
Although my research has been based on viral antimicrobial nanobeads and agriculture, my inner mermaid gets excited by anything under the sea. Having worked on a genetics project to help identify toheroa through eDNA, my love of the ocean has taken me around the world, most recently returning from a few weeks in the Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, learning about oceanography and coral microbiology in this unique environment.
I am excited about getting young people involved with environmental stewardship through leadership and experience.
